Teva Koffex DM is a cough suppressant formulated to provide temporary relief from dry, hacking and irritating coughs associated with the common cold, flu or inhaled irritants. Its active ingredient, dextromethorphan hydrobromide, helps suppress the cough reflex and reduce the frequency and intensity of non-productive coughing.

Active ingredient

Dextromethorphan hydrobromide - 15 mg per 5 mL: An antitussive that temporarily suppresses the cough reflex to help control dry, non-productive coughing.

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and older: Take 10 mL every 6 to 8 hours as needed. Do not take more than four doses in 24 hours.

Use an appropriate medication-measuring device to ensure accurate dosing. Do not use in children under six years of age. Consult a healthcare professional before giving this product to children between six and eleven years of age. Always read and follow the package directions.

Safety warning

Do not use with a monoamine oxidase inhibitor medication or within two weeks of stopping one. Consult a healthcare professional before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take antidepressants or other medications, or have asthma, chronic lung disease, liver disease or a persistent cough with excessive mucus.

This product may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid alcohol and use caution when driving or operating machinery. Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if the cough worsens, lasts longer than seven days, returns repeatedly or is accompanied by fever. Keep out of reach of children.
