For more than five decades, Symington Pharmacy has been part of Toronto's west-end community, providing generations of customers with personal, dependable pharmacy care.

Symington opened its doors on January 10, 1974, at 333 Symington Avenue in Toronto. What began as a neighbourhood pharmacy has grown and evolved over the years, while remaining rooted in the same community and the same belief that pharmacy care should be personal, approachable, and centred around the people we serve.

Today, more than 50 years later, you can still find us at 333 Symington Avenue, in Toronto's Dovercourt–Wallace Emerson–Junction area, just north of Dupont Street.

A lot has changed since 1974, but our commitment to our customers has remained at the heart of Symington Pharmacy.

As an independent community pharmacy, we believe there is value in knowing the people you serve. Our team strives to provide friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate care, whether someone is filling a prescription, managing several medications, looking for an everyday health product, or simply has a question for their pharmacist.

Over the years, Symington Pharmacy has continued to adapt to the changing healthcare needs of the community while maintaining the personal service of a neighbourhood pharmacy.

Our pharmacy services include prescription dispensing and refills, medication consultations, medication organization through blister packs and pill organizers, prescription delivery, seasonal flu vaccinations, diabetes-management consultations, and access to home healthcare supplies and mobility products.

We are also proud to serve a diverse Toronto community, with service available in multiple languages.

From a Toronto Neighbourhood Pharmacy to Serving Customers Across Canada

In early 2024, Symington Pharmacy launched its own online store, beginning a new chapter in our history.

For decades, our focus had been the customers who walked through our doors on Symington Avenue. Our online store gave us the opportunity to bring the same approach to service to customers far beyond our Toronto neighbourhood.

Today, Canadians from coast to coast can shop our growing online selection of health, wellness and everyday essentials, including over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and supplements, first aid products, personal care, skincare, baby and children's products, home healthcare products and much more.

Orders can be shipped to every Canadian province and territory, while customers in eligible areas of the Greater Toronto Area can take advantage of same-day delivery. Customers who live nearby can also order online and pick up their purchases directly from our pharmacy.

Although the way people shop has changed, we want the experience behind every order to remain personal. Our online customers have access to a dedicated support team by phone and email, just as our local customers can speak directly with our pharmacy team in Toronto.

We are proud of how much Symington Pharmacy has grown, but we are even prouder of where we came from.

Our home remains 333 Symington Avenue in Toronto, in a part of the city shaped by generations of residents, small businesses and neighbourhood communities. The surrounding Junction area itself has a long history tied to Toronto's railways, industry, transportation networks and residential neighbourhoods.

Being part of this community for more than half a century means something to us. Symington Pharmacy has been here through decades of change in Toronto, and we intend to continue evolving alongside the people we serve.

The launch of our online store represents an extension of that history rather than a departure from it: combining the personal service and trust of a long-established neighbourhood pharmacy with the convenience and accessibility Canadians increasingly expect today.
