Lax-A-Day is a gentle, stimulant-free osmotic laxative for the relief of occasional constipation. Its active ingredient, polyethylene glycol 3350, retains water in the stool to soften it and make bowel movements easier to pass. The tasteless, grit-free powder dissolves completely in a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, while individually measured sachets provide convenient relief at home or while travelling.

Medicinal ingredient

Polyethylene glycol 3350 – 17 g per sachet: An osmotic laxative and stool softener that helps retain water in the stool for gentle relief from occasional constipation.

Dosage

Adults 18 years and older: Mix the contents of one sachet into approximately one cup of water, juice, soda, coffee or tea. Stir until completely dissolved and drink. Take once daily.

Do not take more than one 17 g sachet per day or use for longer than seven days unless directed by a doctor. Do not take within two hours of another medication.

Safety warning

Do not use if you are under 18 years of age unless recommended by a doctor, have a known or suspected bowel obstruction, have kidney disease unless directed by a doctor, or are allergic to polyethylene glycol.

Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you have fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating or another medical condition; are pregnant or breastfeeding; or use starch-based food thickeners for swallowing difficulties.

Nausea, bloating, cramping, gas, diarrhea or increased stool frequency may occur. Stop use and consult a doctor if side effects are severe or an allergic reaction develops. Elderly adults should stop use and contact a doctor immediately if diarrhea occurs.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, contact a poison control centre or obtain medical assistance immediately. Store in a dry place between 15°C and 30°C.
